Rodney Cayce Obituary

Charles Rodney Cayce, 55 years old passed peacefully into his Savior’s arms on February 15, 2020 in Dallas, Texas from a long battle of liver disease.

Funeral is 2:00 pm Thursday, February 20, 2020 at the First Baptist Church of Alvord with burial in Pleasant Grove #3. The family will receive friends 6 - 8 p.m. Wednesday, February 19, 2020 at Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur.

Rev. Bill Cleveland will officiate. Pallbearers will include Rusty Hand, Jake Hooker, Hank Singer, Jess Meador, John Jenkins, Buddy Green, Randy Allgood, and Jim Sharp. Honorary pallbearers include Paul Simmons, Scott Johnson, Tommy Hooker, Rick Price,  J.D. Coffman, and Brian Dunn.

Rodney was born on December 30, 1964 to Randal and Jane (Hartsell) Cayce in Bridgeport, Tx. He was united in marriage to the love of his life Pamela McKeever on August 19, 1983 in Chico, Tx.

Rodney was the most kind and caring man and he would do anything for anyone. Rodney never met a stranger. He would strike up a conversation and before you knew it you were great friends. He was the best Pepaw! He made sure every one of his grandbabies had what they needed and always had candy in his pocket for them. As a dad he went above and beyond the call of duty and always made sure his kids were taken care of, even while he was sick. He didn’t have to tell you he loved you, you just knew. He just had a presence about him when he walked into a room and just him being there was enough. He was the best husband a woman could ask for, always taking care of everything his wife needed and was there for her for 37 years of marriage. His love was immeasurable and he impacted so many people’s lives in his time here on this earth. He loved the Lord and his walk with Christ grew so strong. He is now in the arms of his Savior.

Left behind to cherish his memory are his wife, Pam Cayce of Chico; son, Pate Cayce and wife Kourtney of Chico; daughter, Becky Grimes and husband Kyle of Chico; 8 grandchildren, Zane, Brylee, Jace, Kason, Aubrey, Avery, Abby, and Macyn; sister, Brandi Dagley of Bridgeport; bonus son and daughter, Seth and Sydney Miller of Alvord; his beloved pitbull, Pig; extended family and a host of friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents Randal and Jane Cayce and a granddaughter, Izzy Cayce.
