Kathleen Virginia (Rowland) Ashley

Decatur ~ Kathleen Virginia Ashley, 90, went to be with our Lord Monday, May 16, 2022.

Funeral is 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 20, 2022 at First Baptist Church in Decatur with burial at Oaklawn Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur.

 David Lowrie and Gerre Joiner will officiate. Pallbearers include Rueben Tamez III, Rueben Tamez IV, Shawn Belknap, Zachary Belknap, Isaiah Belknap, and Adam Belknap. Honorary pallbearer is Nathaniel Anderson.

Kathleen was born August 1, 1931 to Earnest and Lois (Salter) Rowland in Ft. Worth, Texas. She was united in marriage December 12, 1958 to Robert Ashley in Arlington, Texas. Kathleen was a retired typist for General Dynamics for many years, and a member of First Baptist Church in Decatur. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, and friend to many who will miss her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Earnest and Lois Rowland; her husband of 63 years, Robert Ashley, and her daughter, Debbie Barton.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her daughter Cheryl Tamez and husband Rueben of College Station; her 3 grandsons, Shawn Belknap and wife Maria, Travis Davidson and wife Patty, and Rueben Tamez IV and wife Jenny; 8 great grandchildren, Zachary Belknap and wife Lexy, Isaiah Belknap and wife Joelle, Joel Belknap, Adam Belknap and wife Ashleigh, Travis, Jr. and Trent Davidson, and Tessa and Tatum Tamez; 2 great-great-grandchildren, Karsyn and Ariana Belknap; numerous extended family members and a host of friends.
