Decatur ~ Hal Paul Schluter, 62, formerly of Decatur went to be with our Lord Saturday, September 12, 2020 in Dallas.

Funeral: 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 26, 2020 at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in Decatur with burial in Fairview Cemetery in Rhome. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Chaplain Barbara Bottoms is officiating. Pallbearers will include Nathan Schluter, C.H. Schluter, Travis Marrs, Jeffrey Schluter, Christian Putnam, Bobby Schluter, Corban Marrs, Christopher Schluter, Daniel Schluter, and Joey Schluter. Honorary pallbearers will be Van Schluter and Don Schluter.

Hal was born on October 30, 1957 to Bobby Paul and Dessie Ellen (Moseley) Schluter in Weatherford, Texas. He was a member of Open Door Baptist Church in Mesquite and he was a mobile home contractor.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bobby and Dessie Schluter; his daughter, Amy Valene Schluter and his great-granddaughter, Karman Putnam.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his 5 Children - Nathan Paul Schluter, Christina Ann Schluter, Angela Michelle Dorantez, C.H. Bobby Schluter, Tiffany Elaine Marrs; 14 Grandchildren, Dessie Putnam, Jeffrey Schluter, Christian Putnam, Cody Putnam, Katlynn Putnam, Haley Schluter, Ashley Martinez, Hannah Martinez, Giavanna Schluter, Krystaleigh Matuszak, Evie Schluter, Brynlee Marrs, Corban Marrs, and River Marrs; 2 Great-Grandchildren, Jaxon Osteen and Rayden Osteen 2 brothers, Van Schluter and Don Schluter; 1 sister, Nancy Gorden; and the love of his life, Susan Maroney; numerous nieces and nephews.
