William "Bill" Ralph Abel, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and brother-in-law, passed away on July 19, 2025, in Fort Worth, Texas, at the age of 77. He was born on March 17, 1948, in Chicago, Illinois. He married Marilyn Louise (Kamenske) Abel on July 15, 1973 and they shared a life filled with joy, laughter, and unforgettable memories for 52 years.
Bill was surrounded by his family, providing him with comfort and love during his battle with cancer.
Bill is also survived by his son Curtis Abel (Tonya), who brought great pride to him. He was a proud grandfather to Cody and Danalee. His spirit will continue to shine through them as they carry forward his love and ideals.
He leaves behind his sister Nancy Abel of Washington, along with many extended family members.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Dorothy Abel, who instilled in him values of responsibility and hard work that he carried throughout his life.
A proud Vietnam Veteran, Bill joined the United States Navy on April 17, 1967, and served his country honorably until his discharge from active duty on February 17, 1972.
Bill is remembered as a dedicated worker specializing in the maintenance of roller coasters and amusement rides that delighted countless thrill seekers. Prior to moving to Florida, Bill resided in Spring Grove, Illinois, where he was a volunteer for the local fire and rescue department.
As we bid farewell to William Ralph Abel, we celebrate the incredible life he lived—one filled with laughter, love, and a delightful spirit. He will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
