Wiley R. Anderson

Chico ~ Wiley R. Anderson, 88, went to be with our Lord on Thursday, September 3, 2026, in Chico.

Funeral Service is at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, September 10th, at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in Bridgeport with burial at Chico Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Pastor Phillip Weitner to officiate. Pallbearers include William O’Dell, Chad O’Dell, Joshua Carter, Lucas O’Dell, Jon Ashlee Ramos, Raydyn Lucas Yanez, and Chris Barrera. Honorary Pallbearer is Tony Cox.

Wiley was born on July 20, 1938, to Wiley T. and Lola Parlee (Dills) Anderson in Franklin, North Carolina. He was united in marriage to Glenda F. Haney on August 29, 1969, in Chico. They were together 55 beautiful years before her passing in 2024. Wiley dedicated 25 years to Hanson, where he worked as a heavy equipment mechanic. He took great pride in his work and in the skills he developed throughout his many years of service. He proudly served our country in the United States Army. Wiley was a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend to many who will miss him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wiley T. and Lola Parlee Anderson; his wife, Glenda Anderson; his son, John Robert Chesnut; his sister, Dorothy Pendergrass; and his brothers, Bobby and Truman Anderson.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his children, Tony Chesnut and Regina Moody of Crafton, Beverly O’Dell and husband Rick of Chico, Sandraw Williams of Chico, Lorene Cox of Mineral Wells, and Judy Anderson of Chico; his siblings, Margie Fetapatrick of Lexington, South Carolina, Sally Bates of Atlanta, Georgia, Barbara Bates and her husband Donald, and Nina Randall and her husband Butch, both of Franklin, North Carolina; 7 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; numerous other relatives and a host of friends.
