Decatur ~ Weldon Dawson, 69, went to be with our Lord Thursday, December 27, 2018, in Fort Worth.
Funeral is 1:00 p.m. Thursday, January 3, 2019, at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel Decatur with burial in Oaklawn Cemetery.
Rev. C.D. Lockhart will officiate. Pallbearers include Rick Bowling, Johnathan Bible, Lynn Hachtel, Eddie Thompson, Ray Russell, and Jr. Sierra. Honorary Pallbearers include Frank Madrea, Herbert "Sonny" Davis, Ronald McDade, Donald McDade, Keith Dawson, and Harold Henderson.
Weldon was born on January 2, 1949, to R.C and Louise (Lowry) Dawson in Abilene, Texas. He attended Eastside Elementary in Decatur, Fred Moore High in Denton, and then graduated from Decatur High School. Weldon was united in marriage to Cynthia Daniel in October 2015, in Denton. He retired from residential construction as a carpenter and was a member of St. John Baptist Church. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife, Cynthia Daniel of Dallas; his son, Quenton Dawson of Arlington; his daughters, Juitana Kelley and husband Edward of Arlington, Jennifer Dawson of Decatur; his brothers, Ronald McDade of Carrollton, Donald McDade of Denton; his sisters, Sharon Dawson of Decatur, Tammy Harris of Pilot Point; his grandchildren Cameron Dawson, Kenshana Kincade, Casey Halton II, and Akil Biggins; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
