Alvord ~ Wayne E. Tate, a retired cross country truck driver, went to be with our Lord Sunday, July 27, 2014 in Bridgeport.
Funeral is 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at the First Baptist Church in Alvord with burial in Alvord Cemetery. Family will receive friends 1-2 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
Rev. Bill Cleveland will officiate. Pallbearers include Jeff Tate, Kyle Tate, Garland Tate, Jeremy Tate, Marcus Tate, and Chris Tate.
Wayne was born on September 21, 1936 to Roy and Doris (James) Tate in Jacksonville, Texas. He was united in marriage to Katherine Fleming on August 25, 1962 in Borger, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Katherine Tate;
and his brother, Merle Tate.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his sons, Marcus Tate of Alvord, Garland Tate and wife Sharon of Fort Worth, Chris Tate and wife Isabelle of Plano; his grandchildren, Crystal Manjarres, Kyle Tate, Jeff Tate, Jeremy Tate, Kennedy Tate, Andrew Tate, and Kevin Tate, his great- grandchildren, Alyssa, Luisanthony, Samantha, and Elija; his brother, Leroy Tate and wife Bea of Odessa; other family members; and a host of friends.
