Wanda was born July 6, 1930, in Alvord, Texas, to Glen and Leora (Watts) Cassity. On July 17, 1954, she married the love of her life, Charles Joseph (Charley) Morrison, Sr., in Granbury, Texas.

Wanda lived 96 years with a strong spirit, a faithful heart, and a genuine love for people. She was a woman who could find beauty where others might overlook it. For more than 30 years, she was the proud owner of Main Street Mall, where her passion for antiques and treasured finds became a joyful pursuit and a reflection of who she was. She loved the stories and history behind old things and had an eye for finding the special treasures tucked away among them.

Her creativity extended beyond antiques. Wanda was a talented quilter whose beautiful work earned her numerous awards. She had an appreciation for the little details that made something beautiful, and she carried that same appreciation into the way she lived her life.

But perhaps Wanda’s greatest gift was people.

She had a way of making you feel like you belonged. If you ever met Wanda, you were likely to be considered a friend before you ever knew it. She never met a stranger and had a remarkable ability to make people feel welcome, loved, and remembered. She could be strong-willed and wonderfully independent, but beneath that strength was a deeply loving woman who cared fiercely for her family and the people she called friends.

Her faith was the foundation beneath it all. Wanda loved her Lord and remained a faithful member of First Baptist Church in Decatur. She was also a member of Eastern Star Chapter No. 534. Her faith was not simply something she professed—it was woven into the life she lived and the legacy she leaves behind.

Wanda was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She leaves behind more than a family tree; she leaves behind generations of people who carry a piece of her with them. Her stories, her laughter, her stubborn determination, her love of beautiful things, and her unwavering faith will continue through the family she loved so dearly.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charley Morrison; her parents, Glen and Leora Cassity; and her sisters, Bobbie Powell and Jimmie Rhine.

Those left to cherish Wanda’s memory include her sister, Glenda Longmire of Decatur; her daughter, Cindy Morrison of Decatur; her son, Charley Joe Morrison and wife Frances of Georgetown; and her daughter, Robin Vaughan and husband Terry of Boyd.

She is also survived by her grandchildren, Derrick Vaughan and wife Laura, Alisha Luttrell and husband Matt, Cassey McKay and husband Jamie, Cody Morrison, Chanan James and husband Logan, Lily Johnson, and Hayley Stangland-Spain and husband Daniel; and her great-grandchildren, Libby Vaughan, Rendyn Reed, Emylie Luttrell, Bryce, Brynlee, and Alex McKay, Carsyn Morrison, Tanner and Tucker James, Mia Whitley, Tollak and Birdie Spain.

She is also survived by her cousin, Homer Matney of Decatur, along with numerous nieces and nephews and a host of dear friends.

There are some people whose presence simply becomes part of the fabric of a family. Wanda was one of those people. She was a keeper of memories, a lover of treasures, a faithful woman, and a friend to many. Her 96 years were filled with people and moments that mattered, and she leaves behind a lifetime of memories that will be cherished for generations to come.

Her family will miss her deeply—the sound of her voice, her stories, her strong opinions, her humor, and all the little things that made her uniquely Wanda.

But they can take comfort in knowing that the woman who loved her family so fiercely and loved her Lord so faithfully has finally gone home.

Her life was a blessing. Her memory is a treasure. And her faith is her legacy.
