Wanda Faye Brantly

October 25, 1933 — October 1, 2014

Bridgeport ~Wanda Brantly, 80, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, went to be with our Lord Wednesday, October 1, 2014 in Arlington.

Funeral is 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 5, 2014 at Balsora Baptist Church with burial in Post Oak Cemetery in Jack County.   No visitation.

Rev. Glen Connell will officiate. Pallbearers include Sid Brantly Jr., Mike Torok, Sid Brantly II, William Brantly, Steven Rotan, and Steve Lanham.

Wanda was born on October 25, 1933 to Lawrence and Kate (Gilmore) Washburn in Newark. She was united in marriage to Sidney Brantly on October 17, 1951 in Fort Worth. Wanda loved to paint, cook and occasionally contribute to the editorial section of the newspaper.

She was a longtime resident of Balsora and a member of the Balsora Baptist Church.

Wanda was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Albert and James Washburn; and her sisters, Viola Simmons and Ruth Johnston.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her husband of 62 years, Sidney Brantly of Bridgeport; her daughters, Sabra Torok and husband Mike of Arlington; her son, Sid Brantly, and wife Viola of Kentucky; her grandchildren, Kerri, Amanda Lynn, Miranda, Sid, Cameron, Cynda, Toleda, and William; 12 great-grandchildren; her sister, Gail Rotan of Newark; her brother, Paul Washburn of Azle; other family members and a host of friends.
