Decatur ~ Walter Francis Pac, 92, went to be with our Lord Wednesday, September 27, 2017 in Decatur.
Memorial service is 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 7, 2017 at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in Decatur. Family will receive friends 30 minutes before service on Saturday at the funeral home.
Rev. Shelley McNew will officiate.
Walter was born on October 28, 1924 to Joseph and Rose Pac in New Britain, Connecticut. He was raised on the family farm in Kensington, Connecticut and worked his entire career for Mooreland Hill Trust maintaining the properties of the estate of E.A. Moore of New Britain, Connecticut. For several decades starting in the early 1960’s he and his brothers John and Stanley raised beef cattle for the consumption of their three families in their hometown of Kensington, Connecticut. When time allowed in his busy life he enjoyed swimming, sailing, fishing and golf with his family. Walter was very fond of gardening. An accomplished craftsman in trades including finish carpentry, furniture construction and boatbuilding, he spent much of his retirement years crafting in wood. He was united in marriage to Mary Jo Fuller on January 6, 1996 in North Richland Hills.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 21 years, Mary Jo Pac of Decatur; his daughter, Debbie Commette of West Palm Beach, Florida; his son, Allen Pac of Panama City, Florida; 4 grandchildren; his brother, Stanley Pac of Kensington, Connecticut; and a host of friends.
