Virginia Lou (Riddles) Taliaferro

January 25, 1937 — April 27, 2015

Haslet ~ Virginia Lou Taliaferro, 78, a retired grocery store clerk, went to be with our Lord Monday, April 27, 2015 in Denton.

Graveside service is 1:00 p.m. Thursday at Aurora Cemetery in Aurora. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Christian-Hawkins Funeral Home in Boyd.

Pastor Nick Easley will officiate.

Virginia was born on January 25, 1937 to Ira and Nettie (Tilley) Riddles in Comanche, Oklahoma. She was united in marriage to Robert Taliaferro on November 25, 1952 in Wichita Falls, Texas. Virginia was an avid reader, a New England Patriots fan as well as the Texas Rangers with Pudge Rodriquez as her favorite player.  Her most loved sport was the WWF and very seldom missed a wrestling match. Virginia enjoyed antiquing and visiting flea markets with her brother.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert; her brothers, Paul, Leo and John Riddles; and her sister, Mary Jo Davis.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her daughters, Brenda Ratliff and husband David of Rhome and Carol Lewis and husband Jesse of Haslet; her sons, Harold Taliaferro and wife Cecilia of California and Ricky Taliaferro and wife Rhonda of Newark; 12 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; her sister, Sue Salazer of Saginaw; other family members and a host of friends.
