Vetta Marie (Page) Jones

Chico ~ Vetta Marie Jones, 86, a retired nursing home laundry aid, went to be with our Lord Saturday, March 12, 2016 in Decatur.
Funeral is 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at the Victory Baptist Church in Park Springs with burial in Chico Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Monday at Hawkins Funeral Home.
Pastor Robert Cox will officiate. Pallbearers include Melvin Jones, Tony Jones, Paul Jones, Glenn Swafford Jr, Casey Jones, and Marvin Parks. Honorary pallbearers are Justin Jones, Chris Jones, Braydon Weaver, Rusty Robertson, Jackie Jones, James Frank Smith, and Tylor Hunter.
Vetta was born on April 5, 1929 to Archie and Ethel (Huckabee) Page in Jacksboro. She was united in marriage to Marvin Junior Jones on June 16, 1951 in Bell Baptist Church in Wise County. Vetta was a member of the Victory Baptist Church in Park Springs which she was the oldest charter member.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her daughter, Shirley Parks; her brother, Lester Page; and her sister, Erma Riddles.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her daughter, Maxine Swafford of Park Springs; her sons, Melvin Jones and wife June of Chico, Paul Jones and wife Janice of Bowie, Tony Jones and wife Vonda of Chico, and Jackie Jones and wife Amy of Chico; 37 grandchildren; 80 great grandchildren; her best friend, Calvin King; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
