Decatur ~ Velma Lee White, 92, went to be with our Lord Monday, January 18, 2016 in Decatur.
Graveside service is 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 22, 2016, at Oaklawn Cemetery in Decatur, Texas. Family will receive friends 7-8 p.m. Thursday at Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home.
Rick Ross will officiate.
Velma was born on August 5, 1923 to Joseph and Leola (Boyd) Campsey in Quannah, Texas. She was united in marriage to Alvin D. White in 1940 in Gainesville, Texas. Velma worked for James Woods as a driver for 15 years. She was the youngest of eleven children. Velma was a member of the Church of Christ Decatur.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Alvin White, her 10 brothers and sisters.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her son, Jerry White of Decatur; 3 grandchildren, Talmadge White of Fort Worth, Coy White of California, and Crystal White of Oklahoma; 5 great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
