PARADISE -- Velma Swinney, 97, a retired cook for White's Cafeteria, died Sunday, July 16, 2006 in Paradise. Funeral: 10 a.m. Wednesday at Paradise Church of Christ. Burial: Paradise Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Swinney was preceded in death by her first husband of 60 years, T.V. "Hardy" Swinney; her second husband of 10 years, Weldon Swinney; her parents; and 11 brothers and sisters.
Survivors: Daughters, Pauline Williams and Louise Goble and husband, Dick; son, James Swinney and wife Faye; grandchildren, Dale Tucker, Janice Sanders, Rod Goble, Cherry Watson, Karla Goble, Jimmy Swinney, Kenny Swinney, Karen Kelly, and Teresa Swinney; and 11 great-grandchildren.
