Funeral is 10 a.m. Friday, August 2nd at the Church of Christ in Alvord with Chester Collum officiating. Interment: Perryman Cemetery in Forestburg, Texas. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home.
Pallbearers include Ronnie Willett, Paul Blackwell, Kevin King, Larry Piltingsrud, Ibrahim Calderon, and Richard Clegg. Honorary pallbearers include Steve Ledford and David Bishop.
Tony was born April 28, 1956 in Bowie, Texas to Jerry and Peggy (Covington) Gayler. Tony had been employed by Josten's in Denton for over 25 years as a maintenance tech. He was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys. Tony was preceded in death by his mother.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his daughter, Heather Gayler-Jack and husband Justin of Decatur; son, Jason Starr Gayler and wife Jamie of Alvord; 5 grandchildren, Seth, Brittany, Lacie, Breigh and Malachi; father, Jerry Wayne Gayler of Alvord; sister, Sherri Gayler Hartfield of Alvord; 3 nephews and a host of friends.

I worked with Tony at Josten's for most of the time he was there. He was the nicest man, I never heard him say a bad thing about anybody. He was always smiling or whistling some TV show theme song. Talked about his grandkids often, too. He will be missed by many.
