Thomas B. Pinkerton III, 75, passed from this earth Saturday, June 21, 2025. Tom was born July 2, 1949 in Cincinnati, OH. For those who were close to him he was known as "Pink".
Tom was a proud United States Marine Corps veteran who served in Vietnam. He also had the honor and distinction of serving as a Presidential Guard for President Nixon. Tom was a Life Member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He received numerous military honors.
Tom spent his distinquished career in the field of aviation as an Airframe and Powerplant mechanic. He enjoyed being one of the Inspectors for American Airlines, where he eventually retired after more than 30 years. Tom's true passion was all things about helicopters and owned and operated his own helicopter business in Southern California.
Another of his passions was riding and working on Harley Davidson motorcycles. His love was "Baby" a shovelhead V-Twin Harley Davidson motorcycle.
Tom was an avid global traveler and enjoyed learning about other cultures.
His legacy is one of keen wit and dynamic sense of humor. Tom was a loyal friend and believed his friends deepened his sense of purpose in life.
He is survived by his significant other Carla Norton and her son C.J. Bosley; sister, Jayne Pinkerton of Northern California and many friends and family.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Patty, Betty and Camille.
Graveside Service is 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 2, 2025 at DFW National Cemetery in Dallas, Texas. This service will be live-streamed on the Hawkins website.
