Abilene ~ Thomas “Tom” Edward Hancock, 89, a loving husband and father, went to be with our Lord Wednesday February 14, 2018 in Abilene.
Funeral is 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 19, 2018 at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in Bridgeport with burial in Chico Cemetery. Family will receive friends 1 hour prior to service.
Joe Caballero will officiate. Pallbearers include Milton Marburger, Fred Holt, Davis Hancock, Mike Davis, Tom Hancock and John Hancock.
Tom was born on June 20, 1928 to Davis and Nona (Tenney) Hancock in Brenham, Texas. He was united in marriage to Max Ann Hufhines on June 23, 1951 in Wise County, Texas. He served in the United States Navy. He was employed by the Permian Corporation for over 30 years and ranched north of Abilene for the past 25 years. Tom was a member of the First Central Presbyterian Church in Abilene.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Mary Catherine; and his daughter, Amanda Hancock.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 66 years, Max Ann Hancock of Abilene; his sons, Tom M. Hancock and wife Sally of Billings, Montana and John Hancock and wife Karen of Bowie; his daughters, Rebecca Bairley and husband Kenneth of Clinton Township, Michigan and Lisa Le Beyer of Abilene; 9 grandchildren; and a host of friends.
