Terry Max Reynolds was born on July 14, 1936 and passed away peacefully at the age of 89 on April 21, 2026 in Pittsburg, Texas.
Terry (known to loved ones as TR, Dad, Pappy, and Grandpa Terry) was born in Wise County west of Boonsville, TX and was son to Hollis Reynolds and Faye Conner Reynolds. He spent his childhood navigating the fields of Wise County and as a teenager, was baptized in the creek near Balsora Baptist Church. He started elementary school in the Willow Point School Building, and after its closure, he attended Bridgeport School, where he graduated in 1954. He married his high school girlfriend, June Stark, they lived all over Texas, traveling for his job, helping to survey and build flood control dams. They had three children: son Terry Mack Reynolds, daughters Sherrie Denise Reynolds and Lindy Rene Reynolds, and later divorced in 1973.
Terry continued his education, attending Tarrant County Junior College and Tarleton College, then graduating with a degree in Cartography Mapping. He spent 29 years working for the Federal government, where he excelled in mapping within the Soil Conservation Service. He continued excelling in the department, working and managing several southern states. Retirement was not a word used to describe his lifestyle, as he continued to be active and a hard worker until the end of life. He was at various times, owner of a mechanic's auto shop in Crowley, TX, the owner of a used car lot, and later in life, he invested, worked, and managed several rental properties.
In 1983, he began dating Virginia Duncan Tucker, and they traveled the country on their motorcycles. He enjoyed showing love for nature. He also took on the valiant job of becoming a protector, mentor, and giving his love to her and her four children, Jeff, Vince, Tanya, and Trent Tucker. He was united in marriage to Virginia on May 19, 1996, and in 1999, they settled at Bob Sandlin Lake to fish and “relax”. However, they took on more real estate and together they worked and managed their properties until his death. He enjoyed watching Western movies, riding his mule, hunting, fishing, being in the outdoors, tinkering in his workshop, and enjoying his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hollis and Faye Reynolds, brother Victor Reynolds, daughter Lindy Rene Reynolds (stillborn), and daughter Sherrie Denise Reynolds.
Terry is survived by his devoted and loving wife, Virginia Reynolds; his children, Mack Reynolds and wife Marie of Pittsburg, TX, Jeff Tucker and wife Donna of Crowley, TX, Vince Tucker and wife Rebecca of Crowley, TX, Tanya Johnson and husband Jamie of Peaster, TX, and Trent Tucker and wife Angela of Godley, TX; his 15 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
TR will be remembered for his hard-working ethic, a mentor to his sons and grandkids, quiet generosity to his family, and his love for his wife, family, and special friends.
