Suzanna (Els) Edwards

Oleta Suzanna Els Edwards, 78. went to be with our Lord, Saturday, July 6th, 2024 in Decatur, Texas.

Funeral is 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 12th, 2024 at First Baptist Church in Alvord with burial at Sand Hill Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8:00 p.m. Thursday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur.

Bill Cleveland will officiate. Pallbearers include Rusty Hand, Kyle Dickerson, Kevin Medlin, Walter Bull, Greg Hancock, Lance Thweatt. Honorary Pallbearers include Joe Greene, Melton Neighbors, Jack Garrison, and Kenneth Buckner.

Suzanna was born December 28th, 1945 to William James and Oleta (Rone) Els in Dallas, Texas. She was united in marriage August 18th, 1965 to Tommy Troy Edwards in Dallas, Texas. Suzanna graduated from the University of Texas in Arlington, teaching for over 35 years in Alvord, Bridgeport, and Decatur school districts. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to many who will dearly miss her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Oleta Els; and a brother, Jimmy Els.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her husband, Tommy Edwards of Alvord; her son, Davey Edwards and wife Sonja of Corpus Christi; a daughter, Hattie Edwards of Azle; her grandchildren, Sage Lingo and husband Matt, Ryan Edwards, Davin Edwards, and Bryn Edwards; her great-grandchildren, Tate Lingo, Kade Lingo, and Athena Edwards; extended family members and a host of friends.
