Stanley Lynn McClung, 78, formally of Alvord, went to be with our Lord Tuesday, March 20, 2018 in Lancaster, California.
Graveside service is 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 21, 2018 at Pleasant Grove #3 in Chico.
Lynn was born October 23, 1939 in Happy, Texas. He was the youngest of three children born to E.H. and Pearl McClung. Lynn grew up in Oklahoma, graduating from Retrop High School then earning Bachelor's and Master's degrees in education from Southwestern Oklahoma State University. He was a coach and wood shop teacher in Kansas and Oklahoma before moving to California. Lynn coached baseball at Rubidoux High School in Riverside, and then moved to the Antelope Valley in 1971. He taught at Palmdale High School and coached golf, basketball, baseball, football and tennis, retiring in 2002. A long time referee and official, he then became a rules official for golf events at all levels including NCAA, SCGA and LPGA. Lynn also enjoyed traveling, boating, camping, and fishing with family and friends. He is survived by his children, Vicky (Michael) Vogel, Sandy Rodriguez, Stan (Michelle) McClung; his grandchildren, Jordan, Natalie, Steven, Garett, Brooke, Cole, Corey; his sister, Eueline Sharp.
