Stanley Joseph Hoover

Stanley Joseph “Joe” Hoover, 72, of Decatur passed from this earth Wednesday, January 14th, 2026 surrounded by loved ones.

Joe was born September 27th, 1953 to Woodrow Emanuel and Ines (Posey) Hoover in Metairie, Louisiana. He was self employed as a general contractor. Joe was the contractor for the dream home for his partner Rholetta and himself, and was proud of it, his neighbor friends watched as it came to be, marveling at his precision. Joe was an animal lover, taking in whatever needed tending to. He was a beloved partner, brother and friend to many who will miss him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Woodrow and Ines Hoover, brothers Merlin J Hoover and Rodney Emanuel Hoover, and sister Anita M Keaton.

Those left to cherish his memory are his partner of 26 years, Rholetta Loyd; his sisters, Jeanne Soignet and Marie Hoover; extended family members and a host of friends.
