Decatur ~ Shirley Dale Wood, 84, went to be with our Lord Saturday, May 7, 2022 in Decatur.

Funeral is 10:30 AM Tuesday at First Baptist Church in Decatur with burial at Oaklawn Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 PM Monday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur.

Allen Bates and Jack McAsey will officiate.

Shirley was born on January 17, 1938 to Henry Paul and Lela Mae (Hix) Stanley in Wise County. She was united in marriage to James Franklin Wood on November 7, 1959 in Decatur. Shirley was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Wood; her son, Josh Wood; and 2 brothers, Ben and Dake Stanley.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her daughter, Janetta Wood of Decatur; her son, Raymond Wood and wife Pam of Decatur; 5 grandchildren, Alex, Hannah, Nicki, Natalie, and Franklin; 10 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, extended family, and a host of friends.
