Chico ~ Shirley Sutton, 68, went to be with our Lord on Sunday, September 20, 2026, in Fort Worth.
Funeral Service is at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 25th, at Plano Bible Chapel in Plano, with burial at 4:00 p.m. at Lone Star Cemetery. Family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service.
Shirley was born on August 19, 1958, to Alvin and Elsie Melinda (Schmidt) Klinect in Freeport, Texas. She was united in marriage to Paul Sutton on April 8, 1978, in Bastrop. She was a customer service manager at DXP Enterprises in Grand Prairie. Growing up, she filled her church with beautiful music from the piano and organ, sharing a gift that touched the hearts of all who listened. Yet it was the deep and joyful faith she carried in her heart that spoke most profoundly, surrounding her family and everyone she encountered with a lifetime of love, comfort, and grace. Shirley, lovingly known as “Granna,” never missed an opportunity to cheer on the grandchildren she adored. She proudly sat on the sidelines and in the stands, supporting Elijah, Isaiah, and Riley through every baseball, basketball, football, and soccer game. Shirley was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, and cherished friend. She touched the lives of many with her love and kindness and will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Alvin and Elsie Klinect.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her husband of 48 years, Paul Sutton of Chico; her children, Jared Sutton and his wife Stephanie of Murphy, and Jeffery Sutton and his wife, Kimberly of Argyle; her grandchildren, Elijah, Isaiah, and Riley; her brother, Glenn Klinect and his wife, Anna; her sister, Linda Maresh and her husband, Henry; her sister-in-law, Crystal Winnick; her brother-in-law, Edward Winnick; several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
