Bridgeport~ Shirley Ann Franklin, 84, went to be with our Lord on Friday, November 25, 2022 in Bridgeport.

The Family will hold a private service to honor Shirley.

Shirley was born on March 17, 1938 to Edwin Henry and Lucille Margaret (Westall) Herbert in Gipson County, Indiana. She was united in marriage to John Henry Franklin, Sr. on September 13, 1954 in Jacksboro, Texas. Shirley worked as a receptionist with Hillard Body Shop in Fort Worth, Texas. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, and sister, who will be dearly missed by all that knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John Henry Franklin, Sr.; her son, Daniel Blaine Franklin; her sisters, Barbara, Henrietta, and Mary Beth; and her brother, Edwin “Bud”.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her children, Susan Mahaffey of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Sheryl Grace and husband Dirk of Bridgeport, John Franklin Jr. and wife Gena of Bridgeport, David Franklin and wife Christy of Huntsville, Alabama, and Sondrea King of Manitou Springs, Colorado; her sister Judy Hayhurst; her grandchildren, Brandon, Justin, JoBeth, Jason, Jenna, Melissa, Stacey, Victoria, Anna, Holly, Davy, and Nathanael; Seventeen great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous extended family and friends.
