Sara Louise (Monroe) Howard

Alvord ~ Sara Louise Howard, 90, a retired nurse, went to be with our Lord Thursday, September 4, 2014 in Fort Worth.

Funeral is 10:00 a.m. Monday, September 8, 2014 at First Baptist Church of Alvord with burial in Alvord Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Rev. Charles Taylor will officiate. Pallbearers include James Moorman, Chris Massengale, Jimmy Massengale, Dale Morris Jr., Jody Wilson, Jeff Wilson, Anthony Wilson and Tony Morris.

Sara was born on March 17, 1924 to Jessie and Bessie (Lowrey) Monroe in Pilot Point, Texas. She was united in marriage to Willie Joe Howard on August 2, 1968 in Sycamore, Texas. Sara retired from nursing after many dedicated years. She was a Baptist.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Terry Morris; her daughter, Linda Clark Hudson; her sisters, Beula Mae Berry and Elsie Sampler.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her husband of 46 years, Willie Howard of Alvord; her sons, Dale Morris of Boyd and Kenneth Morris of Alvord; her daughters, Donna Giddens of Duncan, Oklahoma and Shirley Massengale of Mountain Grove, Missouri; her brother, Jessie Jake Monroe Jr. of New Harp; her sister, Geneva White of Alvord; 23 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren.
