Samuel Scott Sasser

Bridgeport ~ Samuel Scott Sasser, 60, a retired welder went to be with our Lord Tuesday, January 21, 2020.

Funeral is 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 25, 2020 at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in Decatur. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Rev. Jack McAsey will officiate. Honorary pallbearers include Joseph Lopez, Ben Lopez, Liam Lopez, Damien Lopez, Izaak Torres and Diego Cortez.

Samuel was born January 29, 1959 to William Jack and Ella Jane (Scott) Sasser in Chickasha, Oklahoma. He was united in marriage August 17, 1990 to Myra Ann Trujillo in Denver, Colorado. Samuel was a welder for Imperial Fabricator for many years.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 30 years, Myra Sasser of Bridgeport; his daughters, Tyrese Garrett of Georgia and Joanna Cortez and husband Jose of Fort Worth; his sons, Joseph Lopez and wife Jennifer of Decatur, Ben Lopez and wife Kristi of Bridgeport; his grandchildren, Izaak, Gabriella, Diego, Miah, Liam, Damien, Nevan, Desi, McKenzie and Raiden; his mother, Ella Jane Dozier of Decatur; his sisters, Susan Moore of Haslet and Sandra Wright of Watauga; his brother, Steve Sasser of Saginaw; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
