Ruth Jane (Smole) Vedbraaten

Alvord, formally of Bagley, Minnesota ~ Ruth Jane Vedbraaten, 92, went to be with our Lord Saturday, November 7, 2020.

Ruth was born October 20, 1928 to Michael Henry and Francis (Kerin) Smole in Denver, Colorado. She was united in marriage April 15, 1950 to David Thomas Gardner in Kremmling, Colorado. She loved the country life and making quilts for her family and friends. She was proud of her Texas driver’s license which she got at age 90.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Michael and Francis Smole; her husband of 37 years, David Gardner; her husband, Ed Vedbraaten; her son, Chester Gardner; and her grandson, Shane Gardner.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her 2 sons, David Thomas Gardner and wife Linda of California, and Daniel Gardner and wife Paula of Alvord; her 2 daughters, Linda Eckstine and husband Mike of Colorado, and Janice Bauer of Minnesota; her 12 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild; her brother, Michael Smole of Oregon, her sister, Marie Francine of California; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
