Decatur ~ Ruth McDonald, 99, a retired file clerk, went to be with our Lord Monday, May 18, 2015 in Decatur.
No services will be held.
Ruth was born on August 29, 1915 to Leonard and Virginia (Haney) Burleson in Gainesville, Texas. She was a Baptist. Ruth enjoyed learning and taught herself Spanish. She loved learning and stayed informed on all current events. Ruth’s friends and staff of the Hills were very close to her heart. She married the love of her life, Jess McDonald, right as World War II broke out. As a new bride she was put on a train from Corpus Christi to Wichita, Kansas to be with her new family. They were one big family in no time. But Ruth loved Texas and her Jess, so she came back as soon as possible.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Jess McDonald.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her nieces, Arliene Irby of Keller and Judy Jenkins of Port Orange, Florida.
