Decatur ~ Russell Johnson III, 61, went to be with our Lord Wednesday, June 14, 2023.

Memorial Service is 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 24, 2023 at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in Decatur. Family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service.

Fred Raney will officiate.

Russell was born October 9, 1961 to Russell Harold Jr. and Virginia Ruth (Brown) Johnson in Bryan, Texas. He graduated Permian High School and worked as a stocker in retail sales for many years. Russell was a beloved son, brother, nephew, and friend to many who will miss him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Russell Harold and Ethel Marie Johnson, Sr., and J.D. and Mildred Inez Brown; uncles, Ira Hamil, Paul Johnson, and Marion Johnson; his fur baby, Suzy.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his father, Russell Johnson, Jr. and wife Sharon, and his mother, Virginia Johnson; his brother, Vaughn Johnson and wife Britney; his precious fur baby, Bella; 6 aunts, Claudine Hunt, Ernestine Alexander, Ida Mae Johnson, Janice Cannady, Jeanette Hamil, Patty Stone and husband, Terry; 2 nephews, Stephen Labonte and wife Erin, and Buddy Johnson; 1 niece, Leslie Evans and husband Randy; extended family and a host of friends.
