Roy Boswell

Bridgeport ~ Roy Boswell, 79, went to be with our Lord Saturday, December 15, 2018, in Fort Worth.

Funeral is 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 20, 2018 at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in Bridgeport with burial in East Bridgeport Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home in Bridgeport.

Rev. Gary Demmitt will officiate. Pallbearers include Carson Johnson, Caleb Jennings, Gonzo Jbarra, Ty Read, Colton Waters, and Drexel Dillinger. Honorary pallbearers include Cody South, and Aaron Stanfield.

Roy was born January 23, 1939, to J.T. and Opal (Odell) Boswell in Chico, Texas. He was united in marriage to Brenda Gay Gober on December 31, 1993 in Bridgeport. Roy was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church and a member of the American Legion. He proudly served his country in the United States Army.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Jim Boswell; his son, Ronald Read; and his grandson, Zack Gober.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife, Gay Boswell of Bridgeport; his sons, Mike Boswell and wife B.K. of Mathis, Marvin Read and wife Linny of Bridgeport, and Rodney Read and wife Valeria of Bridgeport; his daughter, Beverly Taylor of Wills Point; his grandchildren, Amye, Kayla, Cameron, Raylen, Bree, and Ty; his great grandchildren, Caden, Cayleigh, Cruz, and Cali; his nephews, Kelly Boswell, and Heath Boswell; numerous other family members and a host of friends.
