Boyd ~ Ronny Johnson, 72, a carpenter, went to be with our Lord Saturday, October 4, 2014 in Decatur.
Graveside service is 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 10, 2014 at Thomas Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Christian-Hawkins Funeral Home.
Rev. Gary Sessions will officiate. Honorary pallbearers include Buck Johnson, Kelly Baker, Kyle Baker, Cody Baker, Cayden Baker and Marlin Braddock.
Ronny was born on June 5, 1942 to Thomas and DeAlva (Shelton) Johnson in Bridgeport, Texas. He was united in marriage to Sharon Young on November 1, 1965 in Weatherford. Ronny was a self-employed carpenter. His hobby was woodworking and collecting all kinds of fine junk that he considered a treasure and possibly an antique. He could carve magic out of piece of scrap oak. Ronny drove a truck for Swift until they closed.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Ronald Christopher Johnson; his brother, Carl Johnson; and his sister, Becky Unger.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 49 years, Sharon “Young” Johnson of Boyd; his daughters, Brandy Renee Baker and husband Kelly of Paradise and Brent Ashley Webb and husband John of Corpus Christi; his son, Ryan Buck Johnson and wife Dorcas of Watauga; his grandchildren, Kyle, Cody, Cayden, and Kamryn; his sister, Brenda Mills of Washington; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
