Bridgeport ~ Ronnie W. Jackson, 74, a retired corrections officer, went to be with our Lord Saturday, June 20, 2015 in Fort Worth.
Funeral is 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 22, 2015 at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel with burial in West Bridgeport Cemetery. Family will receive friends 4-5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Rev. Charles Clary will officiate. Pallbearers include Scotty Cantrell, John Dillinger, Rusty Brown, Mike Taylor, Sam Womack, and Rick Denney.
Ronnie was born on October 2, 1940 to Floyd and Dorothy (Stubblefield) Jackson in Bridgeport. He was united in marriage to Veta Alexander on January 23, 1999 in Bridgeport. Ronnie served his country in the United States Navy. He worked as a corrections officer for Wachenhut then worked for Ruidoso Downs from 2001until his retirement in 2012. Ronnie was a retired volunteer fireman for Bridgeport and Balsora. He was a member of the J-J Country Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his great-grandson, Taylor Owen; and his brother, Bob Jackson.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife Veta Jackson of Bridgeport; his daughter, Shelly Robinson and husband Donald of Paradise; his son, Bud Jackson of Bridgeport; his daughters, Paula Spence of Springtown, Denise Bollom and husband Gary of Boyd, Liz Owen of Fort Worth; his grandchildren, Mallory Owen, Karly Carlson, Chris Robinson, Devon Spence-Herron, Garrett Bollom, Nathan Owen, Tiffany Renner, Wacey Jackson, Braden Jackson; 11 great grandchildren; other family members and a host of friends.
