NEWARK -- Ronald Leon McGregory, 57 a retired Newark Post Master died Thursday, March 27, 2008 in Newark.Funeral service: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Coker-Hawkins Funeral Chapel in Decatur. Burial: Brushy Cemetery, in Bowie, TX. Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Monday. Rev. Marsha Eagle-Middleton will officiate.
Ronald was born in Bowie, the son of Leon and Merrell (Garrett) McGregory. He was a graduate of Bowie High School and graduated Magna Cum Laude from Mid-Western State University in 1973. While living in Wichita Falls he served as Choir Director at Sheperd Air Force Base. He was a member of the Newark Chamber of Commerce and the Wise County Democratic Party.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his grandparents, Roy and Tennie Garrett; his great aunt, Mabel Garrett, and great uncle, Glen Garrett.
Survivors: daughter, Kristen Francelle McGregory of Irving; great aunts, Dorothy Polack, Thelma Chandler, and Allene Garrett; great uncle, Curtis Garrett all of Bowie; and numerous cousins.
