Rodney "Greenpa" Mote

Greenwood ~ Rodney “Greenpa” Mote, 82, went to be with our Lord Friday, May 21, 2021.

Funeral is 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at New Hope Fellowship Church 1110 CR 2425 Decatur, Texas 76234 with burial at Greenwood Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Monday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur.

Rodney was born January 29, 1939 to Robert and Jewel Frances (Roberts) Mote in Decatur, Texas. He was united in marriage March 18, 1960 to Ila Mae Florida in Greenwood, Texas, they were married for 52 years before her passing. Rodney was retired from Peterbilt with over 20 years in the auto production assembly line. He was a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend to many, Rodney will be greatly missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and son-in-law, Dave Jackson.

Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Elaine Jackson of Greenwood; 2 grandsons, Andy Taylor and wife Kim of Paradise, and Barry Taylor and wife Meghan of Greenwood; 6 great-grandchildren, Madyson, Matthew and wife Tadem, Mason, Madden, Layna, and Brynn; 1 great-great grandchild, Allison; his brothers, Robert & Felix Mote; nieces, nephews, extended family members and a host of friends.
