Rodney Jay Lisby

Decatur ~ Rodney Jay Lisby, 82, of Decatur went to be with his Lord Friday, November 5, 2021 in Decatur, Texas.

Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 9, 2021 at the First Baptist Church of Decatur with burial in Oaklawn Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6 - 8 p.m. Monday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur. Gerre Joiner will be officiating.

Pallbearers include Eric Caraway, Jace Caraway, Cason Caraway, Cole Lisby, Gage Yarborough, and Ben Hodges.

Rodney was born August 9, 1939 to J.W. and Mary Frances (McDaniel) Lisby in Decatur, Texas. He married Cecilia Ann Fulfer on December 4, 1957 in Love County, Oklahoma.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 63 years, Cecilia Lisby of Decatur; son, Rodney "Rowdy" Jay Lisby, Jr. and wife Lou Ann of Decatur; daughters, Lisa Caraway and husband Gary of Decatur, and Laurie Hodges and husband Chris of Decatur; 8 grandchildren, Eric, Jace, and Cason Caraway, Erin Doggett, Cole Lisby, Tyler Sereika, Logan Yarborough, and Ben Hodges; 15 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Sandra Nobles.
