Alvord

Robbie Jean Lynch, fondly known as "Gams", passed away on July 23, 2025, in Denton, Texas. She was born on October 10, 1932, in Big Spring, Texas, to her parents, William and Reba Hawkins. Robbie lived a full and meaningful life, cherished for her warmth, generosity, and culinary talents.

As a devoted homemaker, Robbie dedicated her energy to her family and community. She was known for making the best cheesecakes, which brought joy to many gatherings. Her strong commitment to service was evident in her volunteering efforts, particularly at the First Baptist Church, where she played an integral role in the church kitchen. Over the years, Robbie prepared countless meals for Meals on Wheels, ensuring that those in need were cared for with love and delicious food. Her contributions included cooking for the church’s Wednesday night Youth Group and making hundreds of cookies that delighted the children.

Robbie's passion extended beyond her home and church. She was an active member of the Bulldog Booster Club and the Alvord Chamber of Commerce, and she was evidently proud to be recognized as Citizen of the Year. Additionally, Robbie supported the Alvord Volunteer Fire Department, where her desserts for auctions raised significant funds, selling for hundreds of dollars and contributing to the community’s well-being.

Robbie's family was a source of immense pride and joy to her. She is survived by her grandsons, Brandon Mitchell and his wife Amy of Ponder, and Cody Mitchell and his wife Tenille of Amarillo, and her granddaughter, Sharra Longhofer and her husband Luke of Abilene. Robbie leaves behind a legacy of love through her eight great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren, along with numerous extended family and friends who will miss her greatly.

Robbie is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bob Lynch; her daughter, Cheryl Redden; as well as one brother and one sister. The impact she made in the lives of those around her will forever remain in their hearts.

Her funeral service is scheduled for July 29, 2025, at 10:30 AM, to be held at Alvord First Baptist Church, located at 205 East Boling Street, Alvord, Texas. The community is invited to pay their respects and celebrate the life of this remarkable woman who touched so many lives with her kindness and dedication.
