Paradise~ Richard Biddle Long, 62, an Army Veteran, master mechanic and postal worker, went to be with our Lord Monday, September 25, 2017 in Paradise.
Graveside service is 1:00 p.m. Monday October 2, 2017 at DFW National Cemetery in Dallas, Texas. Family will receive friends 6-8p.m. Sunday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Bridgeport.
Rev. Earnest Franklin Shockley will officiate.
Richard was born on December 9, 1954 to Clifford Frank and Margaret Marie (Eaton) Long in Battle Creek, Michigan. He was united in marriage to Wanda Ann (Shockley) on August 22, 1999 in Seattle, Washington. He served his country for 8 years as an Army Sergeant and worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 28 years. In 1983 he received an award from GM a Master Mechanic certificate.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Bob Heiman.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife, Wanda Long of Paradise; his sons, Jason Richard Long and wife Mandy of Oklahoma, Dustyn Richard Long of Arkansas, Shane Sanders of Paradise and Patrick Ingersoll of Paradise; his daughter Misti Dawn Tuck and husband Don of Kilgore, Tx; his grandchildren, Collin, Kayla and Madison Long, Codi Long, Kymberlin Sanders, Kayleigh Sanders, Rayce Tuck and Sadie Tuck: his God grandkids Hannah Collie and Aiden Hernandez; his brother Richard Lee Eaton of Paradise; his sisters, Judy Heiman of Florida, Bonnie Gustwiller and husband Tom of Ohio and Betty Heiman of Ohio; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and a host of friends throughout his 22 years of living in Paradise.
