Richard J. Ivy, 92, went to be with his Lord Thursday, April 16, 2026.

Graveside Service is 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 21, 2026 at Sweetwater Cemetery in Decatur, Texas. Family will receive friends 6-7:30 p.m. Monday, April 20th at Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur.

Richard was born January 29, 1934 to James and Alta Ellen (Gage) Ivy in Sweetwater Community outside of Decatur. He was united in marriage October 5, 1955 to Delois Ann Goodger in Weatherford, Texas. Richard retired from Lone Star Gas after many years in petroleum distribution. He was a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to many who will miss him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Alta Ivy; his beloved wife, Delois Ann Ivy; and son-in-law, Richard Garrison.

Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Rick Ivy and wife Shelby of Ponder; Sherry Ivy of Decatur and DeLona Garrison of Decatur; 3 granddaughters, Curren Wicker and husband Brandt of Decatur, Ryan Brown and husband Ashley of Decatur, and Whitney Castor and husband Kory of Lake in the Hills, Illinois; 8 great-grandchildren, Camden, Carson, Caylen, Kynlie, Kampbell, and Kortlen, Kaden, and Madelyn; nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
