Boyd ~ Richard Alvarado, 82, of Boyd went to be with his Lord, Friday, September 19, 2014 in Decatur, Texas.
Funeral service is 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Azleland Cemetery in Azle, Texas. Family will receive friends 6 - 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Chaplain Dan Bellar will officiate.
Richard was born November 5, 1931 in Port O'Connor, Texas to Thomas and Amelia (Reiz) Alvarado. He married Gail Ludwick on June 9, 1989 in Azle, Texas. Richard proudly served his country and retired from the United States Navy after 20 years of service. He was a member of West Parkway Baptist in Azle, Texas.
Preceding in death by his parents; 3 brothers; 1 sister.
Left behind to cherish his memory is his wife of 25 years, Gail Alvarado of Boyd; son, Byron Alvarado and wife Anna of Fort Worth; daughter, Cassandra Oliphant and husband Stuart of Fort Worth; 9 grandchildren, Irene, Lillian, Alexandria, Ava, Ella, Amy, Deana, Kallie, and Kambree; step daughter, Kay Crowell and husband Kelley of Poolville; step son, Casey Smith of Springtown; 5 great grandchildren; sister, Linda Thomas and husband Bill of Granbury; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
