Ray Ellen Phillips

New Orleans ~ Ray Ellen Phillips, 87, went to be with our Lord Thursday, January 11, 2024 in Louisiana.

Mass of Christian Burial is 10:00 a.m. Thursday with Rosary at 9:30 a.m. at St. Francis Village Catholic Chapel in Crowley with graveside following at 2:00 p.m. at Chico Cemetery.

Ray was born on September 27, 1936 to Jerimiah Matthew and Rosa Lee (Sparks) Fields in Bethany, Oklahoma. She graduated from Texas A&M with her Bachelors of Science as a Registered Nurse. Ray was united in marriage to Herbert “Herb” Pennington Phillips in 1979 in Bedford, Texas. She was a beloved mother, step-mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, and a friend to many that will miss her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jerimiah and Rosa Fields; her husband, Herbert Phillips; and her son, Richard Kittrell.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her daughter, Cynthia Bell of New Orleans, Louisiana; her grandson, Christopher Bell and wife Meredith of Grand Prairie; 2 granddaughters, Ryan Anne Bell of New Orleans, Louisiana and Anne Marie Kittrell of Denton; several great-grandchildren; her daughter-in-law, Nancy Kittrell; 3 step-sons, John Phillips and wife Jeree, Paul Phillips and wife Terri, and Stephen Phillips and wife Elizabeth; other relatives and a host of friends.
