Ray Aaron, Jr.

Ray Aaron, Jr., 72 went home to be with our Lord Wednesday, December 20, 2023.

Funeral is 1:00 p.m. Thursday, December 28, 2023 at New Hope Fellowship Church with burial at Oaklawn Cemetery.  Family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service at the church.

The service will be officiated by Pastor’s Jack Sandford and Jeff Bakker.  Pallbearers will include Chad Fulfer, B.J. Rhodes, Jay Hanson, Lane Romsa, Blare Romsa, and Micah Allen.  Honorary Pallbearers will include Danny Taylor, Ronald Sanderson, Brice Jackson, Todd Page, Kip Hardin, Joe Howard, John Wilson, Will Gage, and Rex Hoskins.

Ray was born February 18, 1951 in Fort Worth to Ray and Imogene (Cagle) Aaron.  He was united in marriage to the love of his life, Melinda Aaron, in March of 1986.

Ray has worn many hats in his life, Business Owner, Sheriff, and Entrepreneur, but his favorite was a wagon driver for Cheyenne Frontier Days in Wyoming.  Ray drove for 18 years and made many friends over the years.

Ray was a kind hearted and gentle man. Sometimes he was quiet but when he spoke, he always had everyone laughing.  Ray always had a story to tell.  His stories will be greatly missed.  To know Ray was to love him.

Ray had a love for wagons, his horses, and his dog.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his son, Rusty Aaron.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife, Melinda Aaron of Decatur; daughters, Robin Meadows, Stacie Witt, and Randi Silar; 6 grandchildren; 1 great-grandson; his sisters, Darlene Mitchell and Belinda Aaron; his brother, Dennis Aaron; extended family and a host of friends.
