Ralph Motsenbocker

Decatur ~ Ralph Motsenbocker, 88, a retired school superintendent, went to be with our Lord Wednesday, March 18, 2015 in Denton.

Funeral will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 22, 2015 at Grace Baptist church with burial in Paradise Cemetery. Family will receive friends 4-6 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Dr. Van Gardner will officiate. Pallbearers include Jay Harmon, Ralph Hunt, Zach Motsenbocker, Roger Sage, Dick Belt, and Bryan Shobar. Honorary pallbearers include David Saling and Davis Hunt.

Ralph was born on September 5, 1926 to John and Ollie (Holt) Motsenbocker in Paradise Texas. He was united in marriage to Ernesteen (Teen) Davis on May 21, 1946 in Wichita Falls, Texas. Ralph worked for the Idalou school district for thirty-six years before retirement.  He was a member of Grace Baptist Church.

Ralph had an extraordinary zest for life and loved spending all his free time with the love of his life Teen and his family.  He enjoyed water and boating activities and was an avid gardener.  During his 36 years as an educator he made countless positive influences on students, parents and other teachers, many of who considered him their role model.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years.

Those left behind to cherish his memory include his daughter, Kim Saling and husband David of Decatur; his son, Kirk Motsenbocker and wife Cheryl of Flower Mound; his grandsons, Zachary Motsenbocker and Ralph Hunt; his granddaughters, Ashlyn Motsenbocker, and Alesha Shobar and husband Bryan; his great grandson, Davis Hunt; his great granddaughter, Vivienne Shobar; his sisters, Lavonne Singleton of Bridgeport and Oleta Nix of Round Rock; numerous nieces, cousins, and a host of friends.
