DECATUR -- Ralph Chilton, 86, went home to be with our Lord on Tuesday, June 30, 2009 in Decatur.
Graveside Service: 10 AM Thursday at Thomas Cemetery. Family to receive friends 6-8 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Rev. Bill Cleveland will officiate.
Memorials: First Baptist Church in Alvord.
Ralph was born on August 29, 1922, the son of S.L. and Myrtle (Green) Chilton, in Petrolia, Texas. He married Juanita Bryan on December 5, 1943 in Bridgeport. Ralph was a mechanic for Ford Motor Company for 33 years and a mechanic for Tarrant County Water District #1 for 22 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Ann Read; granddaughter, Lindsey Read; grandson, Vance Read; brothers, Sam and J.P. Chilton.
Left behind to cherish his memory are: his wife of 65 years, Juanita Chilton; daughter, Carolyn Cain and husband Bob; son-in-law, Gary Read; 15 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren.
