Peggy June (Ewing) Harvey

June 28, 1932 — September 13, 2015

Fort Worth ~ Peggy June (Ewing) Harvey, 83, a retired teacher, went to be with our Lord Sunday, September 13, 2015 Baylor Medical Center in Grapevine.

Funeral is 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 17, 2015 at Church of Christ in Rhome, Texas. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Coker-Hawkins funeral home.

Dan Schluter and assistants, Roy Deaver, Bruce Steele, and Randy Wilson will officiate. Pallbearers include Terry Harvey, Bruce Steele, Jon Doshier, Randy Wilson, Jeremy Wilson, Corbin Wilson, Greg Williams, and Derek Williams.

Peggy was born on June 28, 1932 to Orville and Edith (Kennedy) Ewing in Lake Worth, Texas. She was united in marriage to Harold Harvey July 30, 1949 in Rhome, Texas. They were married 62 years until his passing on June 2, 2012.  Peggy obtained her master’s in education from North Texas University. She retired after 33 years of teaching for Birdville ISD receiving teacher of the year numerous times. Peggy was a member of Rhome Church of Christ where she was a children’s Sunday School teacher for many years, and a member of Rhome Women’s Club.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her step-father, Joe Hern; her husband, Harold Harvey; her son, Ronald Harvey; her granddaughter, Kendi Wilson; her sister, Patsy Ewing Chance.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her son, Terry Harvey and wife Fiorella of Lima Peru; her daughters, Karan Wilson and husband Randy of Fort Worth, and Donna Steele and husband Bruce of Trophy Club; 3 grandchildren, Jeremy Wilson, Corbin Wilson and wife Xochitl, and Tara Doshier and husband Jon; 4 great grandchildren, Caroline Doshier, Cooper Doshier, Isabella Wilson, and Lindsey Teter; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, former students and a host of friends.
