Decatur: O.W. "Woot" Hampton, 72, of Decatur, went to be with our Lord on Thursday, August 28, 2008 at his home.
Memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, August 31st at the home of Billy Hampton, 210 Private Road, 2223, Decatur, Texas.
Woot was born May 18, 1936 in Stephenville, Texas to Ira Benjamin and Alma Rena (Montgomery) Hampton. He retired from Mitchell Energy as a pumper. Woot enjoyed bull riding, hunting, fishing, and watching westerns movies.
Left behind to cherish his memory are two daughters, Jackie Criswell and husband, David of Burleson, Donna Vinson and husband, David of Weatherford; son, Billy Hampton and wife, Michelle of Decatur; brother, I. B. Hampton of Colorado City, Texas; 18 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Woot is preceded in death by his parents.
