Ora Lee Holt Stewart, 100, passed away Saturday, March 9, 2024 in New Braunfels.
Graveside Service will be 1:00 PM Saturday at Oaklawn Cemetery. Family will receive friends 5-7 PM Friday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur.
Ora was born April 27, 1923 in Mansfield, Texas to Merrill Lewis and Katherine Bell (Ramsey) Holt. After graduating Bowie High School, she married Hollis Peltier Stewart in Fort Brown, Brownsville, Texas on April 5, 1942. Ora was an Army wife, an equestrian, a world traveler, and an exceptional bridge player with a wonderful sense of humor. She was a housewife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, and lived a long and fulfilling life.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Hollis Stewart; her brothers, Lewis Franklin Holt and Merrill Lewis Holt.
She is survived by her daughter, Veanna Crawford and husband Steve of New Braunfels; her sons, Jim and wife Barbara of Plano, and Michael and wife Carol of Marshall, NC; her grandchildren Scott Hartsell of Austin, Patrick and wife Aleah Stewart of Fairfax, VA, and Christopher Stewart of San Diego, CA; great grandchildren Emily Hartsell of Austin and Shelby Hartsell of Fife, WA; and great-great-grandson, Aiden Hartsell; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews; and a host of friends.
