Olivia Ann (Holmes) Gasperson

Olivia Ann Gasperson, 83, of Decatur went to be with our Lord Monday, November 25, 2024.

Funeral is 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 30, 2024 at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in Decatur with burial at Oaklawn Cemetery. Family will receive friends 5-7:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Philip Weitner will officiate. Pallbearers include Willy Gasperson, Sam Holmes, Christopher Holmes, Brian Gasperson, Casey Best, and Trenton Best.

Olivia was born June 15, 1941 to John Coley and Anna Olivia (Johnson) Holmes, Sr. in Decatur, Texas. She was united in marriage May 25, 1959 to Jim Gasperson in Decatur, Texas. Olivia was a retired teacher who taught in Texas and Louisiana. She was a beloved mother, sister-in-law, aunt, and friend to many who will miss her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents, J.C. and Olivia Holmes, Sr.; her husband, Jim Gasperson; her brother, John Coley Holmes, Jr. and nephew, Greg Terrell.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Melinda Ann Gasperson of Decatur; brother-in-laws, Bill Gasperson of Bridgeport, Bob Gasperson and wife Rachel of Bridgeport, and Sonnie Gasperson and wife Bernice of Bridgeport; sister-in-laws, Patsy Gasperson, Vickie Flynt, and Becky Hatcher; 7 nephews, Sam Holmes, Chris Holmes, Dr. Jeff Harrison, Jason Holmes, Willy Gasperson, Brian Gasperson, and Wade Gasperson; 3 nieces, Raquie Gasperson, Joanna Gasperson, and Alison Gasperson; extended family and a host of friends.
