Bridgeport -- Nora Elizabeth Shaw, 98, a retired nurse went to be with our Lord on Tuesday, November 24, 2009 in Winnsboro.
Funeral: 1 p.m. Friday at Hawkins Funeral Chapel. Burial: East Bridgeport Cemetery. Visitation: noon to 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Bro. Roger Rhodes will officiate.
Nora was born on August 22, 1911 in Athens, Texas, the daughter of J.D. and Bell (Hodge) Pitts. She was a member of the Cates Street Church of Christ in Bridgeport. Nora was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Houston Rushin; her second husband, Foster Shaw; 2 children, Alfred Rushin and Patricia Kay Bonan; brother, Bennie Lee Pitts; sisters, Ruth Sharp, Lucille Stanhope, and Willie Mae Buck.
Left behind to cherish her memory are her son, Billie Rushin and wife, Sue of Winnsboro; 6 grandchildren: Carlisa, Jana, Tracy, Jarred, Phillip, and Debbie; 7 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; sisters, Dorothy Jean Beal and Tommie Grubbs.
