Decatur: Nellie Scott, 78, of Decatur went to be with our Lord on Friday, January 18, 2013 in Decatur.
There will be a memorial service held at a later date.
Nellie was born May 20, 1934 in Alabama to William and Ida (Sims) Hardin. She was owner of Community Florist in New Caney, Texas, where she also wrote a column in the local paper. Nellie was very outgoing and creative. She was a loving mother and friend and will be missed.
Left behind to cherish her memory are her son, Joey Smith and wife Debbie of Boyd; 2 grandchildren, Heather Gibson and husband Danley of Coppell and Jeremiah Smith and wife Josie of Boyd; 1 great-grandchild, Kale Gibson; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, A.J. Smith; her son, Jackie Smith; and 9 brothers and sisters.
