Nellie Collins Pylant

Funeral is 10 a.m. Monday, August 12 at the First Baptist Church in Alvord with burial in Jonestown Cemetery, near Alvord. Rev. Bill Cleveland and Rev. Doyle Slimp to officiate. Family will receive friend from 3-5 p.m. Sunday at the Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home.

Pallbearers include Neal Holloway, Mitch Terrell, Kent Terrell, Ronnie Corbell, Ben Holly, Todd Hodges and James Parker. Honorary pallbearers include Dan Green, David Goodwin, Kay Swain and Charlie Brewton.

Nellie was born January 22, 1925 in the Jonestown Community to Bill and Minnie (Upton) Collins. She married Bill North on August 14, 1942. Bill was killed in World II, invasion of Normandy. She married W. C. Pylant on January 28, 1945 and were married 60 years until his passing in 2006.

Left behind to cherish her memory are a daughter, Leah Bounds of Benbrook; four grandchildren, Autum, Colin, Kyle and wife Heather and Caitlin; three great-grandchildren, Summer, Jenyka, and Brady; sister, Dorris Terrell of Chico; sister-in-law, Oleta Deutloff of Decatur; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

Nellie is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bill North; husband, W.C. Pylant; son, Ricky Steven Pylant who died in 2000; two sisters, Polly Collins and Lena Reasoner; and a brother, Andy Collins.
